Team Dreamer takes second place in The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AlChE) Northeast Regional ChemE Car Competition

Students from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering designed, constructed and ran their chemically powered model car “Dreamer” in the AlChE regional competition hosted by MIT on Saturday, April 5th. They earned second place with a combined score calculated from, traveling the correct distance while hauling cargo, and for their creativity.

Team “Dreamer” also received the award for Most Creative Car Design, Most Creative Drive System, and won third place in the Poster competition.

Rensselaer’s team competed in the regional competition against Clarkson, Cornell, Syracuse, Northeastern, and the University of Maine.
